Summary
Insight Global is seeking a Construction Safety Manager (SSHO) to support the upcoming demolition phase of a federal project at NAS Whiting Field. This individual will serve as the on‑site safety lead, responsible for ensuring full compliance with EM 385-1-1 standards and implementing a proactive safety culture throughout all demolition activities. This role requires a hands‑on leader experienced in high‑risk environments, particularly within federal or military installations.

PrimaryResponsibilities
- Serve as the designated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for the project
- Oversee all safety operations during demolition activities, ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Develop and enforce Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Accident Prevention Plans (APPs)
- Lead daily toolbox talks, pre‑task safety briefings, and site safety meetings
- Monitor demolition activities for high‑risk operations (structural demo, heavy equipment, confined spaces, etc.)
- Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and safety violations; implement corrective actions
- Maintain all required safety documentation, logs, and reporting for federal compliance
- Act as the primary safety liaison between field teams, management, and government representatives
- Exercise stop‑work authority when unsafe conditions are identified
- 3–5+ years of experience in construction safety, preferably in demolition or heavy civil environments
- EM 385 certification
- Prior experience serving as an SSHO or Safety Lead on federal or military projects
- Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements
- OSHA 30 certification (minimum)
- Ability to obtain or maintain base access
- Experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis
- Strong communication and leadership skills in a field environment
- Previous experience working on NAS Whiting Field or similar military installations
- Background supporting demolition phase or high‑risk teardown projects
- Experience with federal agencies (USACE, NAVFAC, DoD projects)
- First Aid / CPR certification
