Avionics Technician

The Avionics Technician assembles, modifies, and installs wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components on rotary and fixed-wing aircraft. This role involves reading and interpreting technical documentation, performing avionics installations and repairs, troubleshooting complex electrical and avionics systems, and clearly documenting all work performed in accordance with aviation production and repair standards.

• Assemble, modify, and install wire bundles, conductors, and other electrical components on aircraft.
• Install, repair, and upgrade avionics systems and related electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot avionics and electrical systems to identify root causes and perform effective repairs.
• Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and written instructions to perform accurate installations and repairs.
• Clearly document all work performed, including installation steps, modifications, and repairs, in accordance with facility procedures.
• Control and update equipment status tags to reflect current condition, maintenance, and installation status.
• Log critical information during installations and repairs to ensure traceability and compliance with repair station requirements.
• Verify parts requests, confirm correct components, and ensure proper usage of materials during production and repair activities.
• Work alongside mechanics and other avionics technicians to coordinate tasks and support overall aircraft maintenance and completion activities.
• Follow established processes and standards in a Part 145 repair station and completions facility.
• Remain willing and able to work overtime as needed to meet production and maintenance schedules.
• Travel when required to support off-site avionics installation or repair work.

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of electrical or avionics aviation production experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with avionics installation, avionics repair, and avionics troubleshooting.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex avionics and electrical systems on rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, process specifications, and written instructions.
• General knowledge of aviation electrical and avionics components and systems.
• Knowledge of rotary or fixed-wing aircraft platforms and their avionics configurations.
• Experience working with avionics systems on aircraft such as CH-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey, UH-60, OH-1, and AH-64 or similar platforms.
• Ability to document work clearly and accurately, including installation steps, equipment status tags, and critical information logs.
• Capability to work effectively in a hangar environment and collaborate with mechanics and other avionics technicians.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.
• Willingness and ability to travel when needed for work assignments.

• Military aviation experience considered and valued for this role.
• Experience in a Part 145 repair station and completions facility environment is beneficial.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled hangar setting.
• Ability to follow structured procedures and standards for aircraft maintenance and avionics installation.
• Strong attention to detail in verifying parts requests and ensuring correct components are installed.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with mechanics, avionics technicians, and crew leadership.
• No personal tool set required; tools are provided in the facility.

The role is based in a hangar within a Part 145 repair station and completions facility, working alongside mechanics and other avionics technicians. The environment is non-climate-controlled, so conditions may vary with the weather. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, generally between 6:00–7:00 AM start and 3:00–4:00 PM finish, with the expectation of overtime when needed. Occasional travel may be required to support off-site work.

Tools are provided by the facility, and work is performed under the direction of crew leadership in an active, hands-on aviation maintenance setting.
