Program Coordinator - Milton Academy Summer Camp
Position: Summer Camp Program Coordinator
Department: Lower School Auxiliary Programs
Hours: Full-time with the flexibility to work nights and weekends
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Classification: Staff (Seasonal–Summer)
Salary Range: $25-28 per hour contingent upon experience

Summaryof Position
This is a seasonal position beginning in late May and ending in early August. The program coordinator will work closely with the camp director to ensure that day-to-day operations of camp run smoothly. The person in this role will have a wide-variety of responsibilities which include but are not limited to planning weekly schedules, helping with general camp communications, assisting with camper intake and registration, setting up various camp activities, and more.
The program coordinator is enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative, and flexible.
- Work with the Camp Director to implement camp programming and ensure a smooth workflow
- Work with activity leaders to assist in weekly planning and make sure they have all necessary supplies for their daily activities
- Assist camp director with administrative tasks such as sign-up intake, corresponding with parents, Monday morning registration/drop-off
- Be present at the main entrance to greet visitors and direct campers to their activities
- Track daily camper attendance
- Assist with end-of-day camper pickup
- Participate in and implement a variety of programming
- Assist in the marketing of camp by taking pictures and helping with its social media presence
- Assist in preparing lists of campers and materials for daily electives
- Be willing to assist with any additional camp needs
- Work with counselors to help them perform daily job expectations, including but not limited to:
- Expectations as listed in the Staff Manual
- Daily elective selections
- All-Camp Activity participation
- General elective operations
Supervision to be received: Reports directly to the Summer Camp Director
Supervision to be exercised: Responsible for supervising senior counselors, junior counselors, and campers
ExperiencePreferred: Experience working in a middle school, elementary school or summer camp
Required Experience- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including Google Suite, Microsoft Word, and Adobe.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
- Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
- Receptive to supervision and professional development.
- Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
- Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements.
- Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
