Location: Athletic Convocation Center, Milton Academy Campus, Milton,
MA
Hours: Part-time, 12-20 hours per week with flexibility for evening and
weekend hours based on the needs of the program.
FLSA: Exempt
Classification: Part-time, Seasonal
Stipend: $3000 - $4000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
Milton Academy is an independent college preparatory K–12 school, boarding and day in grades 9–12, located just outside of Boston.

Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Manage the JV tennis program under the direction of the Head Varsity coach.
Maintain athletic rosters. It is the coaches’ responsibility to check attendance, note discrepancies and report any changes to the athletic department.
Design and implement practice plans for the team.
Coaches are required to submit comments for all students to be included in grade reports following the conclusion of the season.
Follow all safety practices and Academy policies, as outlined in the school’s Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including the policy against hazing and bullying.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervision to be received: Reports to the Director of Athletics.
Supervision to be exercised: None.
Education/Certification/Licensure
Required: N/A
Experience
Required: No coaching experience is required but a knowledge of the sport of tennis and teaching the sport is preferred.
Preferred: Experience working with an independent boarding/day school.
Required:
Proficiency in working with high school aged students.
Proficiency in the teaching of the game of tennis.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
Receptive to supervision and professional development.
Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
Physical Abilities
Required:
Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
