Base Salary:
For the 2026–27 academic year, faculty salaries range from $50,000 to $120,000 annually. Placement within this range is determined by years of experience, in alignment with Milton Academy’s faculty salary scale, which is designed to ensure equitable pay progression.
Housing Stipend:
Faculty members who reside off-campus will also receive an annual stipend of $13,000 (in 2026-27) in addition to the base salary listed above.

Summary of Position:
Milton Academy is seeking a Middle School World Language Teacher to start in August 2026.
The Middle School world language teacher (covering 3 sections of latin, and ideally 1 section of French) fosters a dynamic and inclusive learning environment focused on innovative teaching practices and student engagement. The individual is also expected to actively support students, creating a positive classroom environment, and adjust teaching methods to support diverse learning styles as needed. This position primarily involves instructing courses in Latin, providing students with a profound understanding of classical languages, literature, and cultures.
This role requires the development and ongoing review of curriculum and course materials.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Teaching
Create and implement a curriculum for 6-8 Middle School Latin courses and 1 French course emphasizing student engagement while fostering a deep appreciation for classical languages.
Create a student-centered learning atmosphere that facilitates students’ mastery of classical languages, using both a reading method and grammar/translation curriculum.
Maintain a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and discussion.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
Stay informed about the latest developments in Classics education, trends, and innovations, and incorporate these into the program.
Learn about diversity, equity, and inclusion in education; incorporate related principles when designing curriculum, teaching, and engaging with students.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop inter-departmental and cross-disciplinary projects and initiatives, including collaborating with the upper school division on curriculum and instruction related to Latin.
Actively support students, providing mentorship and academic guidance.
Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and exams.
Generate timely and comprehensive comments for each student, providing a well-rounded perspective on their academic performance.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding academic progress.
Other Middle School Responsibilities
All middle school employees are expected to attend morning assemblies and advisories, faculty and staff meetings, grade-level meetings, departmental meetings, and professional development. All Middle School employees are expected to be ready to welcome students into our space at 8:00 a.m. and, in this role, to remain on campus until 4:00 p.m.
