Upper School Science Teacher – Chemistry and Biology

Summary of Position

Milton Academy is seeking a Science teacher who fosters a dynamic and inclusive learning environment focused on innovative teaching practices and student engagement. The individual is expected to actively support students, create a positive classroom culture, and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.

This position involves instructing courses in chemistry and potentially biology, providing students with inquiry-based experiences across the life and physical sciences at all levels (regular, honors, and advanced). The role includes the development, implementation, and ongoing review of curriculum and course materials in the relevant disciplines.

Other faculty responsibilities at Milton Academy include advising, participation in community life, and engagement in residential programming. For 2026–27, the school seeks candidates who can contribute to residential life programming, including living on campus and serving as a house parent
. Strong candidates committed to living on campus may receive preference.

Base Salary: For the 2026–27 academic year, faculty salaries range from $50,000 to $120,000 annually. Placement within this range is determined by years of experience, in alignment with Milton Academy’s faculty salary scale, which is designed to ensure equitable pay progression.

Housing Stipend: Faculty members who reside off-campus will also receive an annual stipend of $13,000 (in 2026-27) in addition to the base salary listed above.
