- Conduct initial post-offer/pre-placement physical assessments, review immunization status, and provide required testing or immunizations
- Follow up on unusual findings with education, counseling, referrals, or work restrictions
- Evaluate employee back-to-work clearance after illness or injury and approve return or recommend further evaluation or leave extension
- Coordinate work restrictions or limited-duty returns with supervisors
- Assist with immunization and tuberculosis testing programs
- Follow up on employee exposures to blood borne pathogens, tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases
- Maintain accurate employee health records and daily treatment logs
- Assist with development and revision of Employee Health Service guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Support the workers’ compensation program, file claims when needed, and liaise with physicians and insurance carriers
- Maintain professional development and continuing education
- Collaborate with employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate occupational health services
- Promote employee health, safety, wellness, regulatory compliance, and injury prevention
- Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - At least three years of work experience as a medical or surgical staff nurse
- Massachusetts Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support certification
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse certification preferred
- Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse preferred
- Ability to manage employee health, occupational health, immunization, vaccination, tuberculosis testing, workplace injury, and infectious disease exposure programs
- Knowledge of BILH policies, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, CDC, and OSHA guidelines and regulations
- Possible exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues
Demonstrates expertise in conducting physical assessments, managing employee health programs, and ensuring regulatory compliance in occupational health. Proficient in coordinating with healthcare providers and maintaining accurate health records while promoting employee wellness and safety.
