Summaryof Position:
Milton Academy is in search of a Head Girls Varsity Soccer Coach for the school year. The soccer program competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and is a member of the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). The program has a tradition of excellence and has competed at the highest of levels. The head coach will oversee all aspects of the girls' soccer program at the school, which includes the management of the rosters, practice planning, game planning, and recruitment of both students and coaches for the program
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :- Model the program's values, both within and beyond athletic venues.
- Maintain accurate team rosters, monitor attendance, and report any changes to the athletic department.
- Plan, organize, and lead effective practices in collaboration with assistant coaches.
- Follow protocols in place for tryouts, cuts, practices and games.
- Manage equipment, monitor and record student attendance, and oversee travel to and from away games (including driving students as applicable).
- Complete all relevant paperwork, report game scores, attend professional development, monitor game schedules, and collaborate on website management.
- Submit timely end-of-season comments for all student-athletes for inclusion in grade reports.
- Recruit, develop, and retain student-athletes to support the strength and sustainability of the program.
- Represent the soccer program and meet with prospective student-athletes when requested by the admissions office.
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches to ensure alignment with program goals and school standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Junior Varsity and Thirds programs to support competitive team development and roster continuity.
- Support and advise student-athletes interested in pursuing collegiate soccer opportunities (e.g., creation of highlight films, outreach to college coaches).
- Adhere to all safety practices and Academy policies outlined in the Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including policies prohibiting hazing and bullying.

Experience/Certification/LicensureRequired:
- A minimum of three years of proven experience in coaching at either the high school or collegiate level.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass an insurance and driver's record check.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Previous head coaching experience
- Exhibit strong sportsmanship and positive role modeling.
- Maintain a calm, cooperative, and composed presence.
- Communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
- Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
