Product Development Engineer – Packaging Hot Runner

Title: Product Development Engineer (Design Specialist - Packaging Hot Runner)

Location: Milton, VT

Compensation: $125,000–$155,000 annually

Develop and lead engineering for new packaging products in the injection molding tooling market, collaborating across functions to bring concepts from design to manufacturing launch.

• Perform system level design with limited guidance, creating functional specifications and design solutions that meet industry standards.
• Serve as Product Architect, defining product architecture and concept designs.
• Participate in business case formulation and market opportunity evaluation.
• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams (Engineering, Design, Business Development, Validation) to develop new injection molding tooling.
• Draft, review, and approve design documents, validation plans, and engineering drawings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, including FMEA and other risk mitigation.
• Guide and mentor team members, providing technical leadership and training.
• Represent Husky Technologies in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and product release processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• 10+ years of design experience in injection molding, tooling, or plastics processing.
• Proficient in CAD modeling (Unigraphics preferred).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and tooling processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Experience selecting appropriate materials and sizing components.
• Strong time‑management, organization, and ownership mindset.
