Welder​/Fabricator

We are seeking a talented welder / fabricator to support the production of our competition vehicles at Vermont Sports Car.

Our modern facility is located in the northern part of the state, just outside of Burlington, Vermont.

• Fabricate components using various equipment to clean, cut, bend, tack, and weld parts ranging from simple weldments to complex assemblies; select appropriate fabrication methods based on available resources.
• Meet daily production and quality demands.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to develop weld/fabrication support documentation and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with industry welding and fabrication standards.
• Set up and maintain work area, and verify materials and tooling needed for production.
• Comply with health, safety (including OSHA) and environmental procedures, and maintain a clean work area.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for fabricated components.
• Perform other duties as needed to support VSC s various racing programs.

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Current welding certification (or the ability to achieve it within 3 months).
• Ability to operate various welding and fabrication equipment and tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
• Strong familiarity with the use of precision measurement equipment used in production.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant welding and fabrication experience.
• Proven ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment with high initiative and flexibility.
• Proven ability to be a team player with high integrity.

• Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus as required.
