Assistant Controller

Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee area looking for an Assistant
Controller
. Our client is looking for someone with 6+ years of accounting experience, who is hands‑on and highly organized.

The salary range for this position is $120k-$140k.

The Assistant
Controller will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Support and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Oversee daily accounting activities including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Support external audits, reviews, and tax filings.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting staff.
• Review work prepared by team members and provide feedback and guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support department and organizational goals.

The Assistant
Controller will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field preferred.
• 6+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors including, but not limited to skills, experience level, and overall qualifications. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive program, subject to the rule governing the program.
