Our client is an organization in the Milwaukee area looking for a Director of Accounting.
Our client is looking for someone with 10+ years of accounting experience, CPA certification, and strong attention to detail.
The Director of Accounting will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead accounting operations for U.S. entities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and evaluating the impact of new accounting standards
- Oversee the month-end close process to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent financial reporting
- Direct general ledger, cost accounting, and credit functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, revenue recognition, and billing accuracy
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to support reliable reporting and audit readiness
- Drive effective working capital management through cash flow forecasting, receivables oversight, and payables management
- Partner with FP&A on annual budgeting and planning, including sales forecasts, margin expectations, and operating expenses
- Lead accounting integration for acquisitions, including opening balance sheets and valuation of acquired intangible assets
- Prepare and file quarterly reviews and annual audited financial statements in compliance with SEC reporting requirements
- Coordinate internal and external audit activities, addressing findings and ensuring minimal audit adjustments
- Provide financial insight and analytical support to business leaders to inform strategic and operational decisions
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness across the accounting function
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing accounting team through coaching, performance management, and talent development
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- 10+ years of accounting experience
- CPA required
- Strong leadership skills
- Well organized, detail oriented and accurate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
