Senior Accountant

Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a passion for accuracy, efficiency, and financial insight? My client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team in Milwaukee and play a key role in driving financial integrity and operational excellence.

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll support critical accounting functions, ensure compliance with GAAP, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial information that supports strategic decisions.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Drive process improvements and identify opportunities to increase efficiency and internal controls.
• Assist with audit preparation (internal and external) and provide supporting documentation as requested.
• Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Mentor and support junior accounting team members as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progressing toward CPA preferred).
• 3+ years of professional accounting experience (industry experience strongly preferred.)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX-compliant internal controls.
• Proficiency in accounting systems; ERP experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
