Cost Accountant

As we continue to grow our Midwest footprint, we are seeking a driven and experienced Cost Accountant
.

• Analyze operational costs and recommend ways to improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Preparation of budgets and monitoring of actual expenditures against the budget
• Performs month-end and year-end closings including journal entries, reconciliations and trial balance preparation
• Ownership and continuous improvement of working capital metrics: DSO, DPO, & DIO
• Maintaining the standard cost system, analyzing inventory costs, and ensuring accurate valuation of inventory
• Identifying and analyzing variances between actual and standard costs
• Preparation of detailed reports on cost information to assist management in making informed decisions
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls related to accounting processes
• Work closely with other departments, such as production and operations, to ensure accurate cost data
• Lead the annual financial statement audit process
• Supervision of local accounting team (AP & AR)
• Work on special projects as required

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Professional certifications like CPA or CMA can be beneficial.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing cost accounting is preferred
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required
• Strong proficiency in excel and hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system, IQMS preferred
