Accountant - Milwaukee, WI (Onsite)
Vaco is partnering with our client in Milwaukee to hire an Accountant who will play a key role in core accounting operations, with a strong emphasis on general ledger, lease accounting, and fixed asset management. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to take ownership of critical accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a primary contributor to general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Act as the primary owner of Lease and Fixed Asset Accounting, including tracking additions, disposals, and depreciation.
- Support cost management, month-end close, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.
- Create reports that summarize and forecast business activity, including income, expenses, and earnings based on historical and projected operations.
- Participate in internal and external audit activities as needed.
- Analyze financial data related to assets, liabilities, and capital; compile balance sheets, P&L statements, and other financial reports.
- Prepare and evaluate weekly pro forma income statements.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and related financial planning tasks.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, etc.).
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Public accounting experience (ideal but not required).
- Experience with fixed assets, lease accounting, or GL ownership.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the salary range referenced reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
