SummaryAs an accountant in our property management division, you will be responsible for all financial activities related to the monthly accounting cycle and month-end close process. The portfolio of properties will consist of condominium associations, multi-family housing, commercial properties or a combination of all. They have a strong fundamental accounting knowledge, problem solving skills and great attention to detail.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and or ability required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Obtain primary financial data for the preparation of the financial statement package for each property within the assigned portfolio
- Monthly duties include, but are not limited to, creating and posting journal entries, managing payables and cash flow, reviewing general ledger activity, bank reconciliations, reconciling balance sheet accounts and preparing all supporting documentation
- Work closely with a team of property managers and administrative staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of monthly financial statements
- Manage workload and provide coverage for team portfolios
- Complete daily, monthly, and annual tasks
- Examine accounting records and information for accuracy and compliance
- Serve as the main point of contact for property managers and clients to resolve any accounting related issues or questions
- Ensure monthly property financial reporting is in compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts
- Participate in the preparation of annual operating expense reconciliations
- Associate Degree + in Accounting or Finance
- 3-5years of public/private accounting experience
- 1-3 years of experience in real estate industry
- Accounting experience related to the monthly accounting cycle or month-end close process
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Should possess an understanding and proficient knowledge of our company’s proprietary software including but not limited to Outlook 365, Vantica, Real Page, Yardi.as needed
- Communicate effectively in a collaborative team environment

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to operate copiers, computers, and other relevant office equipment
- Knowledge of real estate budgeting procedures and policies
- Strong ability to work effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people, clients, and situations
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as agreements, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Detail oriented; strong negotiation skill
- Basic Math skills and ability to calculate figures, amounts, percentages
- Ability to successfully complete property budgets for assigned properties
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Ability to maintain courteous professional manner with internal and external clients
- Ability to use good judgement
- Ability to work collaboratively across different business units, handling multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Technology proficiency, knowledge of new technology, current programs and technology, internet, and job-related software including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365, Vantica, Yardi as they relate to the position
