Cost Accounting Manager

Our manufacturing client is looking for a Cost Accounting Manager in North Milwaukee
.

This role is Onsite

• Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience is critical, particularly in complex inventory, core exchanges, and high transaction environments
• Hands on operational accounting mindset
• Advanced Excel skills required; BI exposure a plus
• Labor management calculations
• Lead the cost accounting function, including oversight and mentorship of the Cost Accountant.
• Own and continuously improve standard costing methodologies, including annual cost roll, overhead rate updates, and BOM/BOR governance.
• Validate and monitor standard vs. actual cost performance; ensure root-cause analysis and corrective actions with Operations.

• Partner with Operations, who owns inventory control and cycle counting, to review results, validate financial impacts, and ensure accurate accounting for cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory reserves.
• Help develop reporting that identifies aging, excess/obsolete exposure, scrap trends, and accuracy metrics across all facilities.

• Deliver monthly gross margin reporting by product line, customer, location, and job.
• Provide insights on product profitability, cost drivers, and operational performance trends.

• Collaborate with Operations leaders on new product launches, ensuring BOM accuracy, routing setup, cost estimates, and ongoing cost tracking.
• Serve as finance’s primary partner to operations leadership for all cost and inventory matters.

• Act as the finance owner of the Infor Syteline ERP cost and inventory modules.
• Build automated dashboards and reporting capabilities (through Power BI Team) to support decision making and improve visibility.
