This position will support the daily activities of the accounting department with areas of focus on general accounting and payroll. This role will serve as a vital link between the accounting team, external clients and vendors, and internal management to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
What you will do:- Primary focus will be performing accounting activities that include accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and contract filings.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Assist in the completion of monthly financial reporting, including preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet and income statements.
- Conduct invoicing meetings and collaborate with managers to assess project status and back‑log.
- Partner with Project Managers and Project Coordinators to resolve outstanding accounts receivable.
- Assist with timesheet, expense report, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processing.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities and audits.
- Responsible for the assignment of project numbers and entering contract information into the ERP system.
- Manage payroll, timesheet, and expense report related activities and provide accurate and timely processing.
- Request and process certificates of insurance for projects.
- Provide assistance as needed to support projects, clients, and the team.
- Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience in a professional service environment preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel.
- Experience with Paychex payroll processing software preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily tasks.
- Strong interpersonal communication and relationship skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
