Accounting Analyst

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Accounting Analyst located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is a provider for electricity, natural gas, and steam heat industry Leader looking for high-quality talent to make a difference. They are known to respect a traditional work week and often extend contracts for added job security and stability.

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to support financial reporting, account reconciliation, and regulatory compliance for a large utility organization. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, strong analytical abilities, experience working with accounting systems, and advanced spreadsheet skills.

• Prepare, maintain, and reconcile accounting records and financial transactions.
• Compile, calculate, balance, and analyze financial data for reporting purposes.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Research and resolve accounting issues while coordinating with internal stakeholders.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate financial documentation and records.
• Support accounting system processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond to inquiries regarding financial reporting and accounting transactions.
• Handle confidential financial and employee information with professionalism.

• One of the following:

Minimum one year of post-secondary education, including at least two accounting courses, plus two years of recent accounting experience; OR

Two years of post-secondary education, including at least four accounting courses completed within the past five years.

• Strong Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

• Experience with SAP or other enterprise accounting software.
• Knowledge of financial reporting processes.
• Experience with account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Previous experience in a regulated industry or large corporate accounting environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory financial reporting is a plus.
