Staff Accountant / Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail oriented Staff Accountant / Payroll Specialist to support both accounting and payroll functions in a fast paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for payroll processing, account reconciliations, journal entries, month end close activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with Net Suite and Paycom and be comfortable managing payroll complexities including timecard review, bonuses, commissions, and garnishments.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounting:
  Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy. Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Assist with month end and year end close activities. Prepare financial reports and support management reporting needs. Analyze account activity and investigate variances. Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Payroll:
  Process multi state payroll accurately and on time through Paycom. Review and audit employee timecards for accuracy. Calculate and process bonus and commission payments. Administer payroll deductions including garnishments and other with holdings. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Respond to employee payroll related questions and resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of accounting and payroll experience.
• Experience with Net Suite and Paycom required.
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, payroll processing, and reconciliations.
• Experience managing timekeeping systems and payroll related adjustments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Month end close and financial reporting.
• Processing bonuses, commissions, and garnishments.
• Manufacturing cost accounting exposure is a plus.
• Experience working in a high volume payroll environment.
