Project Accountant

We are looking for a Project Accountant to join a contract assignment based onsite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role will contribute hands-on accounting support by strengthening reconciliations, assisting close activities, and organizing financial records across multiple entities. The position is ideal for a detail-focused individual who is comfortable investigating discrepancies, preparing journal activity, and working extensively in Excel within a fast-paced accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts for multiple entities and ensure supporting records are accurate and complete.
• Investigate differences in financial data by reviewing information across accounting systems and spreadsheet-based documentation.
• Create and record journal entries to support routine accounting activity and maintain reliable ledger balances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks by preparing schedules and completing assigned accounting deliverables.
• Upload journal-related documentation and help preserve well-organized general ledger records for audit readiness.
• Build and maintain Excel-based reconciliation files, analysis schedules, and other supporting financial work papers.
• Contribute to accounting cleanup efforts and provide support for work connected to system-related accounting changes.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and team members to address priority reconciliation items and close deadlines.
• Offer broader accounting assistance as needed, including potential support for payables-related projects.
