Payroll Tax Lead

Salary: $90,000-$105,000

Key Responsibilities for the Payroll Tax Analyst:
  • Prepare, reconcile, and ensure timely filing of multi-state, federal, and local payroll tax filings while maintaining compliance with changing tax regulations.
  • Research and resolve payroll tax notices, agency inquiries, and employee tax issues while working with internal teams and third-party payroll providers.
  • Perform payroll tax reconciliations, account analysis, and support month-end and year-end reporting, including W-2 processing.
  • Maintain payroll tax registrations, unemployment accounts, and jurisdictional setup for new locations and business changes.
  • Participate in payroll system implementations, testing, process improvements, and special projects to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications for the Payroll Tax Analyst:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of payroll tax, payroll accounting, or payroll compliance experience, including multi-state payroll tax knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel experience and familiarity with large payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP/payroll platforms.
