We are seeking an Accountant to perform a variety of accounting functions for a public-sector housing organization in Milwaukee. This position will support account reconciliations, financial transaction analysis, journal entries, payments, and other day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Receive, process, and prepare various payments.
• Analyze, verify, and reconcile assigned accounts.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Maintain and reconcile payment and accounting records.
• Prepare journal entries and review entries for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze and prepare financial documents and reports.
• Perform additional accounting and finance duties and special projects as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; 1-3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Ability to analyze financial transactions and prepare financial documents and journal entries.
• Ability to reconcile accounts accurately and meet recurring deadlines.
• Proficiency with computers and related accounting software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and others.

Compensation will be between $30-43 /hr, and commensurate with experience.
