Lubars College of Business – Graduate Student Services

An Office Assistant position is available in the Lubar College of Business Graduate Student Services Office (Academic Advising). Positions will be on a semester by semester basis.

Qualifications

Must be an enrolled UWM student in good academic standing and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Previous office experience is a plus. Strong oral communication and organizational skills are required. Excellent customer service skills, ability to work well with people from diverse social, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and multi-task in a fast-paced office environment is necessary. Being a graduate student is preferred.

Basic

Duties
  • Phones – answer a multi-line phone. Screen calls and give information or refer callers to correct campusdepartments. Schedule appointments and answer advising questions.
  • Front Counter – First contact for current and prospective students, faculty, staff, parents and community members. Screen visitors, set up appointments and provide information and/or refer to advisors if necessary.
  • Files – Pull files and transcripts for appointments & walk-in advising, return files to appropriate place infile room, file loose materials.
  • Make photocopies, send faxes, assist with mass mailings.
  • Supplies – Keep office supplied with brochures, copies and envelopes for mailings.
  • Literature Rack – Ensure that brochures, copies and materials are available and neatly arranged.
  • Miscellaneous projects as directed.
  • Understand and communicate UWM and Lubar policies and procedures. Knowledge of PAWS and other administrative software systems.
Hours

Approximately 20 hours per week with flexible hours (Hours between 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.).

Start Date

December 2025

Compensation

$12 per hour
