Transfer Student Recruitment and Outreach (30%)
- Serve as the primary admissions contact for all prospective transfer students, providing personalized guidance throughout the inquiry-to-enrollment process.
- Conduct regular visits to high school campuses, community colleges, and other two-year institutions to build and maintain transfer pipelines.
- Represent Alverno at school fairs, college fairs, community college advising events, and community organization events both on and off campus.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community college advisors, transfer center coordinators, and academic advisors at partner institutions.
- Implement targeted outreach campaigns (email, phone, text, social media) to nurture prospective transfer students through the enrollment funnel.
- Conduct preliminary transfer credit estimates for prospective students, providing timely and accurate assessments of likely transferable credits.
- Assist with official transcript evaluations in partnership with the Registrar's Office, ensuring credits are posted accurately and efficiently.
- Apply knowledge of Alverno's transfer credit policies, including HLC standards, AACRAO guidelines, course-by-course equivalency processes, and articulation agreement terms.
- Evaluate transcripts from regionally and nationally accredited institutions, including quarter-to-semester credit conversions.
- Process and evaluate non-traditional credit including AP, IB, CLEP, military credit (JST/ACE), and Credit for Prior Learning (CPL).
- Route course equivalency questions to faculty program directors and academic deans for approval, and track resolution.
- Maintain and update transfer credit equivalency databases and articulation agreement documentation in coordination with the Registrar's Office.
- Support the transfer credit appeal process by gathering syllabi and relevant materials, and coordinating with the Registrar's Office and academic departments.
- Ensure compliance with FERPA and all applicable institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Review transfer applications and render admissions decisions in accordance with Alverno's admission criteria and policies.
- Evaluate applicants holistically, considering academic record, transferable credits, program fit, and alignment with Alverno's mission.
- Determine appropriate program placement based on transfer credits, intended major, and future goals.
- Manage application pipeline and ensure timely communication of decisions to applicants.
- Identify applicants who may benefit from conditional admission or bridge programs and coordinate appropriate referrals.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve transfer student conversion rates from inquiry to application to enrollment.
- Coordinate personalized follow-up communications with admitted transfer students to support yield efforts.
- Support in planning and executing transfer-specific events
- Collaborate with Financial Aid to ensure transfer students receive timely and accurate financial aid packaging information.
- Partner with Academic Advising, the Registrar's Office, and faculty to ensure a smooth transition and onboarding experience for enrolled transfer students.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Office of Admissions and the Registrar's Office on all transfer credit matters.
- Collaborate with academic departments to maintain current course equivalency information and resolve credit transfer questions.
- Participate in admissions staff meetings, enrollment management planning sessions, and campus-wide committees as assigned.
- Maintain proficiency in the College's Student Information System (SIS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms for data tracking and communication management.
- Participate in general admissions events including open houses, campus visit days, and new student orientation.
- Provide backup coverage for the admissions phone line and general email inquiries.
- Stay current on trends and best practices in transfer admissions, articulation, and enrollment management through professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
