Location: Remote / Within Assigned State
Commitment: Part-Time (15–20 hours per week)
Compensation: $50/hr & 10% Commission on Closed Deals
Preferences: Retired within the last 24 months, and resides in the state where work was completed.

Position OverviewThe Consultant – First Responders role plays a key part in expanding partnerships with first responder agencies, driving participation in training programs, and representing our organization within the community. This position is ideal for experienced or recently retired Police Chiefs, Fire Chiefs, EMS leaders, and Sheriffs, who are passionate about advancing professional development and training opportunities across departments, specifically related to opioid use disorder response.
Our Consultants leverage their professional networks and outreach skills to build relationships, generate interest in our training offerings, and help departments move from interest to engagement with our programs. This is primarily done through outreach via phone calls and emails, and having peer to peer conversations. Consultants also represent the organization at conferences and local Chiefs’ meetings, serving as trusted advocates and connectors.
Course materials are specifically focused on Opioid Use Disorder & Co-occurring Conditions. Courses are online and administered by 25+ University partners throughout the country. Designed to give first responders the practical tools and knowledge they need to manage crises involving individuals with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. These situations are often complex, unpredictable, and emotionally charged. This course helps responders approach those calls with greater confidence, clarity, and care.
By focusing on field-tested strategies, it prepares them to act quickly while protecting themselves, their teams, and the communities they serve.
The courses can be fully funded through Opioid Settlement Funds that are accessible to all municipal Police Departments, Sheriff’s Departments, Fire Departments, etc. throughout the country. A key part of this role is not only engaging with the departments, but also working with our team to help them secure funding for the training programs.
Key Responsibilities Outreach & Relationship Development- Dedicate 15–20 hours per week conducting outreach via phone and email.
- Begin outreach through the utilization of personal and professional law enforcement connections, and expand to cold outreach efforts.
- Attend and represent the organization at state and regional conferences.
- Conduct follow-up outreach after conferences.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and department engagement.
- Work with the team to determine strategy and target focus.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure opportunities move from interest to sales.
- Attend local Chiefs’ meetings to promote training initiatives.
- Coordinate with leadership regarding sponsorship opportunities.
- Represent the organization with professionalism, integrity, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Participate in weekly strategy check-ins with the Regional Director and team.
- Assist in troubleshooting stalled deals or leads.
- Meet KPI's to ensure efforts are productive.
- Current or former leadership position required.
- Must be located in and retired from departments in states listed above.
- Retired within last 2 years.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Unafraid to make cold outreach and sales.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage independent outreach and follow-up efforts.
