What You’ll DoAs our Industrial Buyer, you’ll develop and manage the suppliers that supports our objectives for quality, cost, delivery, and production performance. You’ll work closely with operations and production teams and ensure materials are available when and where they’re needed.
- Manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and production demand using our fully integrated ERP system.
- Run and analyze ERP status reports making sure material availability aligns with projected production needs.
- Review and process purchase requisitions, securing high-quality components at cost-effective pricing.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Source and qualify new suppliers to strengthen and diversify our supply base.
- Establish and maintain effective purchasing practices and procedures.
- Negotiate, audit, and manage freight terms and associated costs.
- Support additional purchasing and supply chain initiatives as needed.
You’re analytical, organized, and proactive. You thrive in a dynamic manufacturing environment and understand how purchasing decisions directly impact production and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- At least three years of purchasing experience within a custom equipment manufacturing setting.
- Proven ability to support dynamic and flexible production schedules.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems, with preference for Epicor 10.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and effective problem-solving capabilities.
- Well-organized, self-driven, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
