Buyer-Planner

We are seeking a detail-oriented Buyer-Planner to join our Sourcing team. In this role, you will manage procurement and planning activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant fulfillment of externally sourced products. You will own Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters and leverage JD Edwards (JDE) system messaging to drive purchasing decisions aligned with demand forecasts.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence and supporting customer satisfaction, reflecting our core values of integrity, innovation, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Planning
    • Manage MRP-driven purchasing activities, including MOQ, safety stock, reorder points, and lead times.
    • Utilize JDE system messaging to guide procurement decisions and release purchase orders aligned with demand forecasts.
    • Reschedule and expedite orders to meet plant schedules and prevent stockouts.
  • Inventory & Logistics Coordination
  • Monitor inventory health and support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) for OTIF performance.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics across rail, bulk tank truck, FTL, and LTL modes.
  • Manage supplier-held inventory and Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs.
  • Supplier Collaboration & Quality Support
  • Communicate operational requirements and delivery expectations to suppliers.
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Inventory Control to resolve product issues and ensure compliance.
  • ERP & Documentation Support
  • Maintain accurate procurement documentation and ERP records.
  • Address invoice discrepancies and ensure clean Procure-to-Pay (P2P) execution.
  • Generate reports on purchasing trends, supplier performance, and cost metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Participate in supply chain improvement initiatives and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve operational bottlenecks and support process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
    • 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, or supply chain operations.
    • Experience with JD Edwards (JDE), SharePoint, and CRM software.
  • Preferred Skills
    • Familiarity with MRP processes and interpreting system-generated signals.
    • Experience managing VMI programs and coordinating inbound logistics.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other Requirements
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 standards is a plus.

Other Details

  • Pay Range: $64,800 to $76,200

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, and/or skillset)
