This position is responsible for in-depth analysis and data gathering on potential target geographic markets and customers, competitors, and service offerings. This involves acquiring knowledge of the third-party logistics industry, developing key industry contacts, and keeping abreast of current industry trends. This position will work closely with various groups within the company, including sales, marketing, and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze market conditions in local, regional, and national geographic areas to determine the feasibility of offering services and investing in particular areas.
  • Work with our sales group, potential customers, and operations group to define potential service offerings and determine their feasibility.
  • Develop recommendations on specific customers to pursue from a strategic sales perspective, with the recommendations being based upon broad industry research and intelligence gathering on potential customers and existing competitors.
  • Define and document research methodology and data gathering procedures.
  • Prepare reports and graphic illustrations to deliver data findings.
  • Work with our Client Solutions Group in the preparation of RFP/RFI responses.
Qualifications
  • A degree in business, logistics, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong knowledge of lead generation tools such as Linked In and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills in all environments, including in person, via email, and on the phone; the ability to write and present ideas well is essential for success in this position.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with little advance notice.
  • Experience in the logistics industry is helpful.
