About the job

The Operational Buyer will join MPP Aftermarket’s diverse team of procurement professionals across North America and Europe.

As an Operational Buyer, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day purchasing activities of assigned commodities. This role supports meeting our customers’ expectations and requirements by coordinating the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. This role reports directly to the Head of Procurement and is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and continuous improvement of our supply chain, its effectiveness and efficiency.

Specific

Accountabilities
  • Create & coordinate purchase orders for assigned commodities & monitor progress for on-time delivery & any exceptions that occur.
  • Responsible for scheduling priorities & improvements with vendors to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Function as liaison between cross functional teams to assist in the flow of technical, quality & logistics.
  • Review & resolve vendor invoice discrepancies working in conjunction with the Accounts Payable team.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects to assist exceeding customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, Inventory, & Sales teams to ensure supply meets demand requirements.
  • Request quotations on lower tier spot buys & indirect purchases.
  • Coordinate & communicate supplier delays to Sales & Customer Service.
Travel

Up to 10% of domestic travel is necessary.

Qualifications
  • BA degree in business, supply chain, finance or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience of relevant procurement experience.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment with deadline-driven goals and changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing procurement or aftermarket parts business.
  • Technical aptitude to discuss technical concerns with Engineering teams and vendors.
