Research & Analytics Principal Full-Time, Exempt

About

The Role

ACPWB is seeking a Senior Manager, ESG and Human Capital Disclosure to strengthen our capabilities in pay equity research at a moment when corporate America is under more scrutiny than ever. You will be embedded in the Research & Analytics team, contributing to research products, advisory engagements, and the kind of proprietary data infrastructure that makes our analysts feel genuinely important at dinner parties.

The team currently numbers 5 and is expected to grow.

The Senior Manager, ESG and Human Capital Disclosure will take ownership of ACPWB's compensation communication toolkit work, developing the methodology, managing delivery, and building the client relationships that make this one of our more technically demanding service lines. If you have ever finished a project and wished you owned more of it, this is that role. If you have ever finished a project and been relieved you did not, this is probably not.

The Senior Manager, ESG and Human Capital Disclosure will serve as a subject matter expert and day-to-day execution lead across ACPWB's pay equity research practice. This is not a role for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity in the abstract but uncomfortable with it in practice. You will work with a Research & Analytics team of 5 professionals who are deeply committed to their work and to finding Milwaukee's best fish fry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain current working knowledge of Economic Research Institute Assessor and comparable compensation survey instruments
  • Build reusable analytical templates and models to improve team efficiency across compensation communication toolkit work streams
  • Engage with mid-market growth-stage employers on an ongoing advisory basis to identify evolving research and advisory needs
  • Present findings to client audiences, including compensation committees and boards of directors
  • Partner with sales and marketing to develop collateral and case studies for the compensation communication toolkit service line
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of ACPWB's compensation certification programs
Qualifications Required
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain trust-based relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize large volumes of compensation data into actionable client guidance
  • Advanced proficiency in Economic Research Institute Assessor or an equivalent compensation benchmarking survey platform
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of how compensation decisions affect organizational performance
Preferred
  • Familiarity with institutional shareholder services (ISS, Glass Lewis) methodologies
  • Familiarity with ESOP or equity compensation for private companies
  • Experience with LTIP design including performance share units and stock appreciation rights
WHY ACPWB

Working at ACPWB means being part of a team that is genuinely expert in its field, relentlessly curious about data, and deeply committed to the principle that transparency produces better outcomes for everyone — except, perhaps, for the organizations that prefer opacity. We have opinions about those organizations. We have published some of those opinions.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Finalists are invited to a two-hour working session with the team — a structured discussion of a real analytical scenario relevant to the role. There is no single correct answer. The session is a preview of what collaboration looks like didates consistently find it useful regardless of outcome.

What Success Looks Like In Year One
  • Build at least two peer relationships with professionals outside ACPWB in the compensation or governance field
  • Identify and document at least one concrete improvement to an existing ACPWB process or methodology
  • Complete a self-directed analysis of a relevant market trend and share findings with your practice group
  • Successfully guide a junior team member through a full engagement cycle as a peer coach
