Job Description & How to Apply Below

The Jewelry Center | Brookfield, WI |
Competitive compensation based on experience and skillset

The Jewelry Center is a growing, five-location independent jeweler, backed by a multi-platform holding company. We’re looking for a sharp, high-ownership teammate to work directly with senior leadership on some of the most important problems in the business.

Our mission is to be the go-to full-service jeweler in every community we serve. We’re ambitious about what we’re building, but we’re practical and low-ego in execution. We give our people a lot of trust, room to use their judgment, and the opportunity to make a real impact without layers of bureaucracy.

Your first major mandate will be overseeing and improving inventory management. We have millions of dollars of merchandise moving across five stores, a multitude of vendors, and a rapidly scaling organization. You’ll build and own the systems, analytics, and operating discipline behind how we buy inventory, allocate it, move it, measure it, and invest in it.

However, inventory is the starting point of this role, not the boundary. We’re looking for someone with the potential and ambition to become a broader operating leader in the business. As you build context and demonstrate impact, you could take ownership of increasingly important functions and initiatives across revenue, operations, strategy, and growth.

We want someone who is energized by understanding and improving the whole business: someone comfortable moving between analysis and execution, building a model one day and tracing a physical discrepancy the next, developing a better purchasing process and then working with store leaders to make sure it actually works.

This role may be particularly compelling for someone coming from consulting, investing, or another analytical environment who wants to move from recommending decisions to owning them. You’ll make decisions, implement them, fix what breaks, and see the results firsthand.

What you'll do
  • Own the operating system behind millions of dollars of inventory across five locations, from purchasing and receiving through transfers, replenishment, returns, aging, markdowns, and disposition.
  • Improve how we allocate capital across products, categories, vendors, and stores by turning messy operating data into clear recommendations and better business decisions.
  • Build better systems and processes by improving reporting, controls, workflows, data quality, and the connection between physical inventory, our systems, vendors, invoices, and accounting.
  • Automate manual work and develop tools that make the business faster, more accurate, and easier to operate.
  • Partner with store leaders and senior leadership on purchasing strategy, assortment, inventory investment, and other high-impact operating decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional projects spanning merchandising, finance, store operations, technology, and other parts of the business.
  • Take on high-priority operating problems beyond inventory as you build context, demonstrate impact, and earn broader responsibility across the company.
Who we're looking for

We’re looking for someone analytical, detail-obsessed, humble, and unusually high-ownership.

You should be comfortable working with imperfect data, asking questions until you truly understand how something works, and getting deep into the details when necessary. Strong analytical skills are a must, but so is the willingness to leave the spreadsheet and tackle the real-world problem behind the numbers.

Values fit matters here. We’re intentional about our culture  want someone who puts the customer first, owns their commitments, brings positive energy, takes pride in excellent work, acts with integrity, and is the kind of teammate others want to work with.

Roughly 2–5 years of relevant experience is ideal. Backgrounds in consulting, business operations, finance, analytics, supply chain, or other rigorous operating environments could translate well.

Jewelry experience is not required, but enthusiasm for the industry is. You should be excited by beautiful product, luxury retail, merchandising, and the opportunity to learn a fascinating business from the inside.

Why this role

This is not a large-company job with a perfectly defined lane, a deep bench of analysts, or an established playbook.

You’ll have real responsibility, imperfect information, direct access to decision-makers, and the ability to materially change how the company operates. If you’re exceptional, the scope of the role can grow with you.
