About

The Role

The VP of Client Advisory Services will lead engagement delivery for a portfolio of nonprofit and mission-driven organizations, serving as the primary point of accountability from scoping through final presentation. This is not an internal-facing role. You will be in front of clients regularly. We need you to find that energizing. This role combines deep analytical work with sustained client engagement, serving nonprofit and mission-driven organizations in the government contracting sector on questions that have real consequences for real employees.

The VP of Client Advisory Services will be part of a Market Intelligence team of 18 that is highly regarded inside ACPWB and, more importantly, outside it.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional ACPWB teams on integrated service offerings
  • Manage preparation and submission of ACPWB's annual survey participation data to Culpepper Compensation Survey
  • Support the annual update and peer review of ACPWB's proprietary workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics methodology documentation
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics market updates to internal teams and select clients
  • Manage relationships with third-party data vendors and ensure data quality standards are met
  • Partner with sales and marketing to develop collateral and case studies for the market pricing analysis service line
  • Provide analytical support to colleagues across the firm on cross-practice engagements touching workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion metrics
Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in a client-facing advisory role within the government contracting sector or broader professional services
  • Experience with compensation survey data sources (e.g., Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson, or equivalent)
  • Experience navigating compensation questions that are politically sensitive within client organizations
  • Strong understanding of the institutional investor landscape and corporate governance expectations
  • Willingness to travel to Milwaukee periodically for team meetings, client engagements, and fish fry
Preferred
  • Experience with total rewards communications and employee-facing content
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Economics, or a related field
  • Experience with XBRL or structured data reporting for SEC filings
  • Prior experience working with or presenting to corporate boards of directors
WHY ACPWB

If you have spent your career doing important work at organizations that did not fully recognize its importance, ACPWB is a corrective experience. We notice contribution. We reward it. We publish research arguing that everyone else should do the same, and we practice what we preach, which is not as common as it should be.

ACPWB was founded in Milwaukee in 2006 with a simple mandate: help working Americans understand and advocate for the compensation they deserve. Eighteen years later, that mandate has grown into a full-service research and advisory practice serving clients from early-stage employers to Fortune 50 enterprises — and we are still based in Milwaukee, because Milwaukee is genuinely underrated.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Our process has three stages: application review, a 45-minute screen with the hiring manager, and a final panel. We tell candidates what to expect before each step and provide an outcome within five business days of any interview. We do not leave candidates wondering.

What Success Looks Like In Year One
  • Contribute to the annual review and update of ACPWB's methodology documentation
  • Develop a working knowledge of ACPWB's proprietary compensation databases and benchmarking infrastructure
  • Complete all required compliance and ethics training modules before their respective deadlines
  • Complete ACPWB's structured onboarding program and gain working fluency in our core analytical methodologies
  • Become the team's internal reference point for at least one specific technical domain or methodology area
