Overview
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Construction Supervisor Full-Time, Salaried / Exempt. Tuesday Saturday schedule 7:30am-4pm. The Construction Supervisor leads groups of 5-10 people in all aspects of hands-on construction tasks, including site prep, framing, siding, windows, drywall, painting, flooring, finish carpentry, and final closing preparations. The role involves instructing volunteers and homeowners in construction activities while maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. Supervises construction of new homes from foundation to finish and leads daily on-site operations, including scheduling, task assignment, and material coordination.
Mentors and trains volunteers and homeowners in general construction techniques, ensures work is performed safely and in compliance with local building codes and Habitat’s construction standards, maintains accurate documentation and progress reports for each project, and supports a positive, inclusive volunteer experience aligned with Habitat’s mission.
- Lead daily on-site operations, including scheduling, task assignment, and material coordination for new home construction.
- Supervise groups of 5-10 volunteers with hands-on construction tasks across trades (site prep, framing, siding, windows, drywall, painting, flooring, finish carpentry, and final closing preparations).
- Instruct and mentor volunteers and homeowners in general construction techniques while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ensure work complies with local building codes and Habitat’s construction standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and progress reports for each project.
- Support a positive and inclusive volunteer experience aligned with Habitat’s mission.
- Minimum of 2 years of on-site carpentry and residential single-family construction experience.
- Experience leading and training crews of skilled and unskilled workers.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings.
- Experience utilizing technology such as Google products.
- Valid Wisconsin Driver License and good driving record.
- Proven ability to manage a construction schedule with multiple deadlines.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Able to respond to critical situations calmly and effectively.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, and work outdoors under all weather conditions.
