Construction management is the process of planning, organizing, and overseeing a construction project from start to finish. It’s about making sure everything gets done the right way, on time, and within budget. Without construction management, projects could face delays, go over budget, or fail to meet safety and quality standards.

A construction management technician helps make sure construction projects run smoothly. They work with a project manager to plan, organize, and keep track of the work. Their tasks often include:

Responsibilities
  • Reading blueprints and plans to understand what needs to be built.
  • Helping create schedules and budgets for the project.
  • Making sure materials, tools, and workers are ready when needed.
  • Checking that the work meets safety rules and quality standards.
  • Communicating with contractors, suppliers, and workers to solve problems.
  • They play an important role in keeping construction on track, on budget, and done the right way.

Requirements
  • Must be a senior in 2024/2025 school year
  • Must remain on track to graduate by end of 2024/2025 school year
  • Must remain in good standing with your school
  • Must be punctual and have excellent attendance throughout school year and any existing employment
  • Must maintain safe work practices at all times
  • Must have reliable transportation by April 30th of 2025 to use for field visits in southeastern WI
  • Must obtain a valid driver’s license by April 30th of 2025
  • Must pass drug/alcohol screenings prior to beginning of program
  • Be engaged and show dedication to your training
  • Show respect to the skilled workers training and supervising you
  • Respond in a timely manner with all required paperwork and requests
  • Comply with Kapur company policies and Youth Apprenticeship Program Agreement
  • During the summer months, must work a 40 hour work week – 8 hours per day between the hours of 7AM and 5PM
  • Position is in office – no remote work allowed
  • No degree is required but it is encouraged to continue education beyond high school diploma
