We bring a hospitality‑driven approach to every project, ensuring that every interaction is thoughtful, responsive, and human‑centered.

As Superintendent, you may work across any of our market focuses, including Healthcare, Commercial Interiors, Industrial, Higher Education, Historical/Repositioning, Mission‑Critical, and/or Life Sciences.

Who You Are

You’re a hands‑on leader who thrives in the field, keeping people and projects moving forward with confidence, clarity, and care. Relationships are the core of your work. You serve as the trusted advisor and liaison for our clients, providing hospitality at every step of the process. You’re calm under pressure, quick to solve problems, and great at bringing people together. You set a high bar for craftsmanship, safety, and collaboration, and you expect the same from everyone around you.

You enjoy coordinating moving parts and motivating teams to deliver quality work on time and on budget. Most importantly, you’re energized by watching a plan come to life.

How You’ll Contribute

As a Superintendent at Gardner Builders, you'll be the on‑site lead for construction operations—balancing the details, managing field teams, and serving as a point of connection between trade partners, clients, and your internal project team. From the start of a project through closeout, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing schedules, sequencing work, and ensuring progress aligns with project goals.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
  • Driving quality by proactively identifying and resolving issues before they become problems.
  • Communicating with trade partners, field staff, and project managers to ensure alignment.
  • Hosting weekly foremen meetings to keep everyone informed and on track.
  • Ordering materials, scheduling inspections, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Acting as a visible, responsive, and reliable presence on site.
  • Jumping in as needed to solve problems quickly, professionally, and collaboratively.

You’ll also be a role model for safety and hospitality, setting the tone for a positive, productive jobsite culture.

  • Communication flows clearly between field and office.
  • Team members feel supported, informed, and engaged.
  • Trade partners trust your leadership and value working with you.
  • Clients are impressed by the smooth execution and the way your team shows up.
What You’ll Bring
  • 5–10 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, trade scopes, and site logistics.
  • Familiarity with healthcare, commercial interiors, industrial, higher education, historical/repositioning, mission‑critical, and/or life science construction.
  • A humble, team‑oriented approach and the ability to manage several tasks at once while keeping a cool head.
  • Confidence in reading plans, coordinating teams, and adapting to change.
  • OSHA certification.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software, construction platforms like Procore, Google tools, Microsoft Office tools, and Apple devices.
  • Ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
What Will Set You Apart
