Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Overview

Walbec Group produces high‑quality construction materials and delivers professional design, engineering and construction services through its six companies:
Payne and Dolan, Northeast Asphalt, Zenith Tech, Parisi, Premier Concrete, and Construction Resources Management. The company works on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest, focusing on safety and ethics.

The Project Engineer will assist Project Managers (PMs) and other key staff with day‑to‑day tasks such as bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing and collection, and more.

• Assist PMs with bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing and collection.
• Use safety software and related applications (HCSS, financials, scheduling, etc.).
• Perform take‑offs and bidding for building activities (grading, paving, milling, subcontractors).
• Schedule equipment use and manage contracts and negotiations.
• Handle billing and collection tasks and specifications.
• Apply basic knowledge of mix designs, plants and aggregate sites (manufacturing).
• Support general business operations and understand company details.
• Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly tasks with other Project Engineers and PMs in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with Operations, PMs, Scheduling, and occasionally Manufacturing and Technical Services.
• Attend project meetings (pre‑construction, pre‑pave, scheduling, etc.).
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational training, certification, or combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
