EHS Representative - Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project

Job Overview

Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an EHS Representative to join our Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, New York.

White Plains, New York.

Expected salary range for this position is $145,000 – $165,000 depending upon experience.

No staffing agency candidates will be considered for this position.

• Monitor and enforce the individual Health and Safety plans of each project in conjunction with the site safety reps.
• Perform supervisory responsibilities including training, mentoring, planning, assigning, delegating, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and resolving employee issues.
• Maintain a safe jobsite, monitor safety and take appropriate action to correct any safety issues or deficiencies.
• Oversee and interact with management and crews during daily work activities.
• Purchase and distribute safety equipment (PPE).
• Provide safety orientations, daily stretch & flex, and toolbox talks.
• Ensure compliance with all Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) and Environmental Health & Safety Plans (EHASP).
• Monitor activities at multiple construction sites and inspect construction sites daily.
• Assist Project Manager and/or Superintendents with the development and monitoring of the job‑specific safety plans and JHAs.
• Review accident procedures and prepare accident reports for any incidents that occur.
• Maintain Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and hazardous communication program.
• Complete incident reports, distribute and maintain files.
• Gather toolbox reports from foreman and subcontractors, generate daily reports, and monitor all accidents with appropriate paperwork.
• Gather Monthly Safety Hours from subcontractors for the monthly report.
• Maintain and conduct safety audits.
• Manage and prevent hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contact with field supervisory personnel.
• Supervise and conduct safety and first aid training of staff at the project sites.
• Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities and conduct investigations with employees, subcontractor personnel, and CCIP carrier for each accident occurrence or violation.
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly field documentation to ensure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established project procedures.
• Accompany all safety, health, and insurance inspectors on walkthrough tours.
• Perform additional assignments at the supervisor’s request.

• OSHA 30 credential is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a Health & Safety related program from an accredited institution.
• 5 or more years’ experience as a manager or supervisor of safety teams.
• 10 or more years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience in underground construction; TBM experience highly preferred.
• Familiarity and experience with NYCDEP safety and health regulations.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR by the American Red Cross or its equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 software.
• Current certifications in LOTO, Confined Space, RCRA, HAZWOPER 30‑Hour OSHA and other BEDC Training.
