The Position

Under the direction of the Foreman, we seek a Cement Mason/Concrete Finisher responsible for safely assisting in the placement of concrete and final finishing of concrete surfaces, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include:

  • Smooth out concrete in segments to ensure the poured concrete is level.
  • Fill roadways, driveways, sidewalks, bridges, and parking lots.
  • Arrange concrete forms and prepare surfaces.
  • Level surfaces using special blades, smoothing lumps and bubbles.
  • Use wood or plastic forms to shape concrete and hold it until set.
  • Smooth high spots and fill depressions.
  • Create concrete beams, columns, and panels.
  • Finish corners by hand.
  • Use vibrating machines to fill air pockets.
  • Know and use crane hand signals safely.
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Class A CDL strongly desired.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Prior construction experience preferred.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Able to work varied hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Tolerate variable weather and dirty, dusty environments; able to crawl in close quarters to remove concrete forms.
  • Member of a local Cement Masons Union, or willingness to become a member.
