Preconstruction Manager

MG Recruiting Source is partnering with a rapidly growing commercial mechanical contractor to identify a Senior Mechanical Estimator who will play a key leadership role within the organization's expanding preconstruction department.

This is more than a traditional estimating position. We're seeking someone who enjoys collaborating with operations, building relationships with clients and trade partners, developing conceptual budgets, and helping shape the preconstruction process from opportunity through project turnover. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing organization.

What You'll Do

• Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates for commercial mechanical/HVAC projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Develop budgets, pricing strategies, and value engineering recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with project management and operations to ensure successful project handoffs.
• Participate in client meetings and support design-build and negotiated project pursuits.
• Help refine estimating processes and contribute to the continued growth of the preconstruction department.

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years of commercial mechanical estimating or preconstruction experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and commercial mechanical construction.
• Experience with conceptual estimating, design-build delivery, and value engineering.
• Proven ability to prepare accurate budgets and detailed estimates.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience with estimating software such as Quote Soft, FastEST, Autobid, Trimble, or similar platforms is preferred.
• Self-motivated professional who enjoys working collaboratively in a growing organization.
