Ozell Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Inspector to support U.S. Coast Guard construction projects throughout the Great Lakes region. The position will be based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin
, at U.S. Coast Guard Sector Lake Michigan.

This is a full-time position supporting the inspection and oversight of federal construction, renovation, maintenance, utility, waterfront, and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include:
  • Perform daily on-site inspection and surveillance of construction activities
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, and other contract documents
  • Monitor contractor performance and identify work that does not comply with contract requirements
  • Attend preconstruction, progress, quality control, and other project meetings
  • Review potential construction changes and evaluate cost and schedule impacts
  • Witness field testing and review testing reports
  • Review contractor payment requests and verify work completed and materials stored
  • Maintain daily reports, deficiency logs, photographs, RFIs, change documentation, and other project records
  • Participate in pre-final and final inspections and development of punch lists
  • Coordinate closely with U.S. Coast Guard project personnel and provide regular project status reporting
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of applicable construction inspection, construction management, superintendent, quality control, or similar construction experience
  • Strong knowledge of building construction and construction trades
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of applicable building, fire, electrical, and plumbing codes
  • Experience with new construction and/or renovation projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly to project sites throughout the Great Lakes region
  • Ability to successfully complete required federal background screening and badging requirements

Experience with federal construction, U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Defense projects, waterfront/marine construction, utilities, dredging, or hazardous-material site conditions is preferred.

Schedule:

Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week, primarily Monday–Friday
