- Milwaukee is hiring a student social media producer. WUWM 89.7 FM
- Milwaukee's NPR is committed to bringing the people of southeastern Wisconsin in-depth news, thoughtful conversations and smart entertainment. Member-supported WUWM is licensed to the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and is operated by the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee College of Letters and Science.

Position Summary:

The student social media producer will work closely with our communications team to create and publish social media content. This person will also do photography and videography on identified projects to amplify WUWM and its reporting.

Ideal position for a student with strong creative skills and an interest in public media. Details:

- From 15 to 20 hours a week
- Pays $14.50 an hour
- Employment runs until May. 31, 2027, with possibility for more hours in the summer (dependent on student eligibility)- Hybrid position, must be able to work from office in downtown Milwaukee when needed

Core Responsibilities & Skills Social Media Planning & Posting Draft and schedule posts for Facebook, Instagram, You Tube and Linked In Brainstorm  and suggest potential content opportunities

Implement existing digital and campaign strategies

Write copy caption tailored to each platform

Community Management & Social Listening
- Monitor and help respond to audience comments/messages
- Track audience behavior and engagement trends
- Flag insights/trends from social listening to supervisor/communications team Content & Asset Creation
- Manage/organize digital and social media assets
- Create graphics in Canva
- Edit short videos for social platforms in Canva or Adobe Premiere

Qualifications:

- Must be a current student.

- Experience using and creating content for social media platforms - including Instagram, Facebook and You Tube.

- Photography experience.

- Videography experience.

- Graphic Design experience.

- Strong writing and editing skills.

- Able to work quickly and efficiently to reach deadlines.

- Able to work independently and collaborate with others.

- Strong attention to detail.

- Demonstrates eagerness to learn.

Preference:

- Junior, senior or graduate student.
