Ticket Reservationist JOB DESCRIPTION (Seasonal April - October)

Job Description:

The reservationist position is responsible for answering customer questions and taking reservations for the cruises over the phone and in person as well as monitoring online reservations. As the first point of contact with our customers, all reservationists must maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor. Reservationists are responsible for communicating the passenger count and seating charts to the service staff aboard the vessels.

When customers arrive for their cruises, reservationists check-in customers, give them their tickets, and direct them to the boarding area on the riverwalk.

Basic Duties Include (but Are Not Limited To)
  • Answering the telephone and helping customers make reservations online or taking their reservation over the phone.
  • Responding to email inquiries.
  • Monitor reservation counts for each cruise that is scheduled.
  • Answer general questions about the cruises (cruises that are offered, what time they depart, what is offered with each cruise, price of cruises, etc.)
  • Giving directions to customers as to how to get here and where to park.
  • Communicating passenger count for each cruise to the service staff on board.
  • Communicating with deckhand staff to make sure all customers have boarded their cruises.
  • Selling gift certificates to customers.
  • Selling Edelweiss merchandise to customers.
Ticket Reservationist Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in customer service.
  • Computer skills necessary including basic MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Personable, friendly disposition.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
  • Independently driven to complete tasks.
  • Able to work weekday hours; though evening and weekend positions may also be available.
