Milwaukee County Zoo - Visitor Services, 10001 W Bluemound Rd, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Hourly Pay Range: $11.23 - $16.82
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Guest Services Supervisor, Visitor Services Specialist Lead, and Visitor Services Specialist, the Seasonal Zoo Worker in Admissions and Experiences is responsible for engaging with guests by greeting, assisting with ticket sales, and ensuring a positive experience. This role involves working in a fast‑paced environment, requiring strong computer and communication skills. Most shifts are spent standing and working outdoors in admissions, parking, and various guest experiences throughout the Zoo.
- Customer Service – Deliver an outstanding guest experience and promote animal conservation by adhering to standard procedures and delivering narratives with kindness and consistency.
- Cash Handling – Accurately handle ticket sales and process transactions using a Point‑of‑Sale system.
- Operations – Perform opening, operating, and closing tasks, including cleaning assigned areas, picking up debris, and maintaining a clean environment. Familiarity with admissions and experiences procedures is required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- 18 years of age or older upon application.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous work experience handling money.
Applicants must establish residency in the state of Wisconsin within six months of the start date and maintain such residency during incumbency. A non‑competitive examination will be held for this position.
