BackgroundFinancial services experience is not necessary but is a good thing. Call center experience is nice to have but not required (avoid Spectrum and We Energies). Healthcare is fine, but make sure someone is okay with the rigidity of the role—strict hours, schedules, and corporate office. Anyone who can work in a fast-paced environment and is great at computers and empathetic.
Candidates could be a waiter/server, retail worker, or someone with fast food experience. There are a LOT of computer systems to learn, so that is the main skill needed. Average 50–60 calls per day.
- Technical skills: Comfortable with computer systems (ability to learn and navigate multiple systems quickly).
- Soft skills: Empathy and care for customers, and a positive attitude are required.
- Education preferences: High school diploma;
Bachelor s is OK. - Nice to have vs. need to have: Some call center experience is nice to have. Customer service experience is required but could be in retail or fast food. Attendance is ESSENTIAL—not missing any days during training and limited to 1–2 days total during the 90-day assignment. There is an opportunity that, if they excel in the role, they could be offered a full-time position.
