Architect – Public Safety Design

Our clients design team is seeking an experienced Architect with a background in public safety facilities to join their collaborative and fast-paced environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful projects that directly support public safety communities while growing into future leadership responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience designing facilities such as fire stations, police stations, or similar public safety buildings, and will be comfortable contributing across the full project lifecycle — from early concept development through construction completion.

• Support project development from conceptual design through construction administration
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams and participate in client meetings
• Mentor junior architectural staff and guide them through design coordination and documentation
• Assist with proposals, interviews, and client relationship management
• Contribute to business development efforts and represent the firm at industry events and professional organizations
• Provide technical design leadership, including detailing and construction documentation
• Ensure compliance with building codes, life safety requirements, ADA standards, and architectural specifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or a related field
• Approximately 6–14 years of experience in an architectural or design firm
• At least 5 years of experience designing public safety facilities (fire and/or police stations preferred)
• Strong experience in design development, construction documents, and construction administration
• Proficiency in design and construction tools such as Revit, Bluebeam, Procore, Sketch Up, or similar platforms
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when needed
• Interest in long-term growth into senior leadership responsibilities
