BIM Designer

Overview

Are you an experienced VDC Designer with a background in Plumbing or HVAC Mechanical systems? We're looking for a detail‑oriented professional who enjoys collaborating with project teams and turning designs into accurate, constructible 3D models that support fabrication and installation. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, engineers, shop personnel, and field teams to develop high‑quality BIM models and fabrication drawings for a variety of commercial projects.

• Create and coordinate detailed 3D BIM models using Revit and CAD software.
• Review project specifications, engineering drawings, proposals, and addendums to understand project requirements.
• Produce constructible fabrication, assembly, and spool drawings for shop production.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate design changes with other trades.
• Prepare documentation required for plan reviews, permitting, and fabrication.
• Manage drawing revisions and maintain organized electronic project files.
• Assist in maintaining and improving CAD/VDC standards and systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and fabrication teams throughout the project lifecycle.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3‑5 years of CAD and Revit experience in the mechanical construction industry.
• Experience designing either Plumbing or HVAC Mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Ability to interpret construction documents and engineering drawings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to travel to construction sites and move throughout office and outdoor jobsite environments.
