The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, a leader in delivering the most advanced medical technologies and comprehensive health care services, is seeking BC/BE Gastroenterologists to diagnose and treat a wide range of GI conditions.

Opportunity Highlights- Full time role based at Froedtert/MCW and The Zablocki VA Medical Center, both located in Milwaukee
- Performance of colonoscopies, endoscopies, EGDs, and various other diagnostic procedures in partnership with anesthesiology services
- Robust support services and strong, collaborative teams in our Gastroenterology and Hepatology programs, including but not limited to liver transplant, colorectal surgery, and hepatobiliary surgery
- Average of 16-18 outpatient procedures per day
- Inpatient & outpatient support by advanced practice providers

- Multidisciplinary care model: coordinated work between gastroenterologists and other specialists (e.g., surgeons, radiologists, dietitians, hepatologists) enhances outcomes for complex cases
- Specialized programs such as Dysphagia Institute, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, Pancreaticobiliary Center, and Hepatitis Treatment Program offer robust, focused expertise
- Leading Research & Innovation:
Strong bench-to-bedside research mission with clinical, translational, and basic science programs tackling unresolved problems in GI and liver disease - Active involvement in clinical trials across multiple disease areas — including IBD, hepatology, motility, and advanced endoscopy — often supported by NIH and industry collaborations
- A culture that integrates research into clinical care, accelerating delivery of novel therapies and evidence-based approaches.
- Education & Fellowship Leadership:
The division's Gastroenterology Fellowship Program has trained over 120 physicians who now lead and shape GI care and research nationally and internationally - Collaborative learning environment with regular seminars, case conferences, and journal clubs that enrich professional development

- Holistic, Personalized Care Approach:
Personalized treatment plans that combine lifestyle, nutrition, and medical/surgical strategies tailored to the individual patient. - Emphasis on preventive care and public education about digestive health to improve long-term outcomes
- Medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent) from an accredited institution
- Board certification (or eligibility) in Gastroenterology
- State medical licensure, or eligibility to obtain state licensure in the state of Wisconsin
