Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) Campus Ambassador, UWM Office of Undergraduate AdmissionsAll Office of Undergraduate Admissions (OUA) staff are expected to maintain and uplift Enrollment Management’s core values of being a student-ready campus, creating a culture of care, and leaving a positive impact on our community. Position Summary:
The Campus Ambassador (CA) role involves conducting campus tours for prospective students and guests, hosting group tours, managing front desk operations, and assisting with various recruitment and visit-related tasks and events. CAs are pivotal in UWM's recruitment efforts, enhancing the campus visit experience with the current student perspective. Public speaking is a key element of this role.
Responsibilities:
Provide student-ready and welcoming customer service to all Office of Undergraduate Admissions guests making them feel valued and understood.
Utilize resources, people and individual knowledge to find the best solution to questions and/or problems.
Act as ambassadors of UWM by increasing awareness of our institution and Milwaukee community.
Provide resources and timely follow up as needed by working collaboratively with staff in OUA and across campus.
Engage with diverse and energetic team of student leaders by upholding community standards and values to create an inclusive work environment.
Be an expert on UWM resources, events, and support systems to share accurate expectations and information with families and students.
Assist with organizing and facilitating OUA sponsored events and various projects.
Demonstrate professionalism by communicating effectively and appropriately.
Utilize problem solving skills to work independently and complete tasks within given deadlines.
Actively engage in on-going reflection, feedback, and evaluation while participating in 1:1 and team meetings and staff trainings.
Qualifications:
Must be enrolled as a UW-Milwaukee student seeking a bachelor's degree.
Ability to work all dates and hours job requires (specific dates provided during interview process) with availability to work at least 5-10 hours per week.
Must be in ‘good standing’ with conduct at time of appointment and remain free while employed.
Must pass a Position of Trust Background Check upon employment.
