This part-time Office Associate position of 20 hours per week will provide a great opportunity for an individual interested in helping to organize and facilitate events that enhance students’ civic learning and engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help plan and organize the Marquette Civic Dialogues Program.
    • Work with director to review schedule of events.
    • Participate in weekly meetings with the full Civic Dialogues team.
    • Supervise student interns.
  • Coordinate the details of each event.
    • Responsible for travel logistics, catering, and campus space reservations.
    • Assist in the processing and record keeping of entertainment, transportation, and speaker contracts.
    • Oversee all publicity for events.
    • Work closely with university faculty, staff, and student organizations to build knowledge and interest in Civic Dialogues program.
  • Coordinate Civic Dialogues Program communications.
    • Coordinate social media strategy and content with Civic Dialogues team and liaison with staff in Students Affairs, Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, and University Relations.
    • Attend to website creation, maintenance, and revision in collaboration with Civic Dialogues Program team.
  • As a member of Civic Dialogues team, this person will:
    • Collaborate with other team members to develop, promote, and facilitate Civic Dialogues events and programs.
    • Participate in team meetings, planning, and events management work.
  • Required Knowledge,

    Skills and Abilities
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two years’ related experience
    • Ability and deep desire to work in collaboration with others
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Demonstrated capacity to use and create content on Instagram, Twitter, and Linked In
    • Experience in web editing
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage competing work expectations
